Installing Smasher
This quick start guide helps you install and configure Smasher WordPress Theme.
Before you begin
We have put a huge amount of effort making Smasher WordPress Theme the best theme available. Anyway, bad things happen. So before you begin installing Smasher WordPress Theme we strongly recommend making a backup copy of your site’s database and files. If you need assistance here – take a look at official WordPress backup Help http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups
When you have backup files in safe place – please, continue installing Smasher.
Prerequisites
To install Smasher WordPress theme you will need:- Web Server with installed and correctly working WordPress version 3.4. or later. If you need any assistance installing or configuring WordPress – please, consult official WordPress installation guide: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress
- FTP client. We recommend using FileZilla FTP client. Download it here: http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client
- Your server’s FTP credentials (hostname, username and password). You should have been received this data from your web hosting services provider.
Uploading Smasher
- Download purchased Smasher WordPress Theme archive file to your Desktop folder.
- Extract downloaded archive file using archive manager program into your Desktop folder.
- Upload directory smasher from extracted theme folder to your server’s WordPress themes folder (typically it is located /webroot/wp-content/themes) using FTP Client program.
- Make wp-content directory of your WordPress installation writable by web server. It may be done by changing its access mode to 755 recursively. More about http://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_File_Permissions
Now you are ready to enable and configure your newly installed Smasher WordPress Theme.
